Because today I hit my head, and I forgot who I was, and now I realize that knowing the wrong way kind of got in the way. Now, I start from joy, and I end with joy. You should too. After all, when all is said and done, isn’t that where you want to be? You believe there’s more, go right ahead. If you feel the world hasn’t yet expressed it the same way that you do, and you’re determined to make yourself known, or find a kind of wisdom that will raise your consciousness to an even higher state, explore away, and put your all into it.

But remember that you may die before coming to this realization, and thus must be aware of the part of you that is complete, right now. It’s all around you, if you allow yourself to feel it. You have enough. Smile and be happy.

So today I decided to work non-stop, and as soon as I decided that my mind came up with a hundred other things that I could be doing. I fought them off for a while, but they soon had me caught. “Just once”, they said, “and you can get back to your work, with less distraction”. I thought to myself, what’s the harm? I can just take the necessary time out, and then feel sated.

Only, the satiety never came, not the way I wanted, anyway. I slowly came to realize that it was a trap, set into motion by my holding on to the belief that I was incapable of accomplishing the task. The same pattern rippled throughout my history, infecting everything that I have come into contact. It has become a self-sustaining cycle, and requires every effort on my part to overcome, leaving often little energy to do anything else but feel sorry for the wretched deficiency that had permeated my being and paralyzed my progress.

You can believe the voices that try to convince you that this is your only option. Playing one more level of Halo helps to take the sting off of your incredible shame, but I think I’m going to try something a little differently this time. For now, I am going to behave as if I will succeed, and let go of any expectations regarding how that success ought to make its presence felt. After all, Dante had to go through hell itself to order to be cleansed and reach his paradise.

And to understand his process most one must appreciate this fascinating process. It’s like a wide river flowing down a mountainous valley, inviting you to join it and bond with its essence. Ironically, the things that I want most, and have treated them as if they are worth my time and energy. I recognize the amount of power I have, and how that power has been dispersed by indulging in such ephemeral mirages full of tacitly empty promises.

Step out, breathe the air. Be in the moment, fully. Come back, put your mind on the process, and be in it completely. Be diligent, and find those wellsprings you never even knew were empty to fill, sometimes gradually and sometimes alarmingly quickly. And whenever there is an indulgence to be enjoyed, enjoy it completely and without regret. Always keep your heart open. Believe in your innate abilities, and trust in the process. Let go of irrational, emotionally charged cravings by whatever means serves you. With enough distance, you will see how little joy you allowed yourself to receive. You will believe that there is more, and it’s yours for the taking.

When I think these things, my heart is at peace, my head is full of gratitude and my hands are steadfast.

Is it to preserve their sense of self? Their reputation? Is it because they want to be respected for work they have not accomplished?

As a person with Asperger’s Syndrome, I am rather averse to lying. I prefer to be honest about all things. This is for various reasons, including the fact that I have a hard time reading people by body language.

This is not to say that I don’t or haven’t on occasion, but it is not something that I feel comfortable doing. I believe that the major cause of wars of all kinds is that people sacrifice the truth in favor of some ignominious scheme. I wish that people would put their pride aside in search of a greater reality.
